Framed Size  9" x 21", with non reflective glass.  The ever popular kingfisher, this time a male and female.  Kingfishers are widespread, especially in central and southern England.  They are found by still or slow flowing water such as lakes, canals and lowland rivers.  In winter, some birds will move to estuaries and the coast.  Mounted.  SOLD Privately.

The Kingfisher has an extended breeding season (more than half the year) and each pair needs to raise one-and-a-half young annually on average to compensate for the high juvenile and adult mortality rates, which exceed 75%.  Read more.....BTO Kingfisher 

The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
