Framed size 10" x 8", with non reflective glass.  The third in my collection of smaller paintings, what better choice than the House Sparrow.  As I say every time I paint them, they are my favourite garden bird.  I think this little guy looks quite distinguished looking after his gate.  A dear English friend of mine.  SOLD to an Australian Collector.

The House Sparrow is a small but sturdily built bird with a stout bill designed for eating seeds. The overall appearance is somewhat scruffy due to the loose nature of the plumage.  Read more.....RSPB House Sparrow 

The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
