Framed size  9" x 21", with non reflective glass.  I have been wanting to paint avocets for some time now, so here is my first colony!   Surely a painting to lift you on a dull day?   SOLD at the Hadleigh Show.

The avocet is a distinctively-patterned black and white wader with a long up-curved beak. This Schedule 1 species is the emblem of the RSPB and symbolises the bird protection movement in the UK more than any other species. Its return in the 1940s and subsequent increase in numbers represents one of the most successful conservation and protection projects.  Read more.....RSPB Avocets 

The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
