Little Owl on Gatepost Original Acrylic

Framed Size 18" x 12", with non reflective glass.  After painting the Barn Owl, my favourite owl, in various settings, it was time to change.  Here is my Little Owl poised on the gate, peering straight at us, so very wisely, deep in thought.  SOLD at Brett Gallery, Monks Eleigh.  I was excited to hear he had been appreciated, so quickly too!    

The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.    

Many of the early attempts to introduce Little Owls into Britain failed, the owls dying soon afterwards, but a series of releases that took place at Stonewall Park in Kent, saw the Little Owl established.  Read more.....RSPB Little Owl
