Framed size 9" x 21", with non reflective glass.  A new entrant to my gallery, the woodcock in a seasonal settling.  The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself. The woodcock is a large, bulky wading bird with short legs and a very long straight tapering bill. It is largely nocturnal, spending most of the day in dense cover.  Read more.......RSPB Woodcock
