The Wren is one of our most widespread breeding birds, found in all but some of the most remote and high-altitude parts of the UK. Despite its abundance – an estimate of 7.7 million breeding territories was made for the population in 2009 – this is a bird that is more often heard than seen. The trilling song, which is surprisingly loud for such a small bird, makes up for the fact that this species spends much of its time foraging within cover. Read more.....BTO Wren
The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting. The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
