Framed size 18" x 12", with non reflective glass.  This is my second Merlin, the first being painted some years ago.  Since then I have moved to colour blocking the background and including  much more intricately detailed surroundings.  Whilst the more plain background still attracts many with its simplicity, I would like to think that the attention to fine detail of subject and surroundings adds even more. This painting must hold the record for its speed of sale....... it was reserved when barely half finished, the rock was yet to appear ! SOLD

The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
