Framed Size 18" x 12", with non reflective glass. A surprise request for a commission and I am quite pleased how the colours have turned out. It was requested by a local farmer I have known for years who is rather fond of the humble wood pigeon and particularly wanted to include one in flight. I think, with the addition of the red berries, this turned into a rather nice painting. SOLD as a commission.
The UK's largest and commonest pigeon, the woodpigeon is largely grey with a white neck patch and white wing patches, clearly visible in flight. Read more.....RSPB Wood Pigeon
The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting. The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
